How to Complete the Paul O’Neill Cornerstone Program Quickly in MLB The Show 26

[DarkWolf5]

If you're looking to inject some serious lefty pop into your Diamond Dynasty lineup, the new Paul O'Neill Cornerstone Program is a must-do. Completing it nets you a nasty 95 OVR Red Diamond Paul O'Neill card. With a 113 Contact and 83 Power against righties, plus elite active quirks like Dead Red and First-Pitch Hitter, this card is a certified righty-killer that will hold down your outfield for a long time.

The good news? You don't have to spend days grinding this out. If you follow a smart, optimized path, you can knock this program out in just a few short games. Here is the fast-track strategy to get O'Neill onto your squad tonight.

The Fast-Track Strategy
The quickest loop for this program is simple: Clear Moments ➔ Stack a Full Yankees Lineup ➔ Farm in Mini Seasons or a Custom Stadium.

1. Knock Out the Moments First
Before you do anything else, head into the single-player Moments menu and clear them all out. These are quick, bite-sized challenges that give you immediate program points and get the ball rolling. Getting these out of the way first gives you a nice head start and shortens the in-game stat grind later.

2. Build Your "Bronx Bombers" Grinding Squad
To finish the program, you need to collect 39 total bases specifically with New York Yankees players. The most efficient way to do this is to head to your squad screen and completely fill your starting lineup with Yankees hitters.

It doesn't matter if they are Live Series, Team Affinity, or Flashback cards--just stack the entire lineup. This ensures that every single hit, double, or home run you track during a game counts toward that 39 total base requirement.

3. Farm PXP in a Max-Elevation Custom Stadium
Alongside the Yankees bases, you need to rack up 2,105 Parallel XP (PXP) with any hitters. Since you already have a full lineup of Yankees, you'll be knocking out both missions at the exact same time.

Take your Yankees squad into Mini Seasons or Play vs CPU on Rookie difficulty. If you want to speed things up drastically, head over to the Stadium Vault and download a custom, max-elevation stadium with short fences. Playing on Rookie at a high-altitude stadium turns routine fly balls into easy home runs, allowing you to bat around the lineup endlessly and finish the PXP requirement in no time.

4. Stuck on a Moment? Switch to Directional Hitting
If you find yourself struggling with some of the multi-hit or total base requirements in the single-player Moments, don't sweat it. Go into your gameplay settings and switch your hitting interface from Zone to Directional.

When you're at the plate on Rookie difficulty, just hold your Left Stick "Up and In" (to the pull side) and time the pitch. It takes the precision of the PCI out of the equation and lets you easily pull the ball over the wall for cheap home runs.

Program Mission Requirements Breakdown
Keep these exact thresholds in mind while you're grinding out your games so you know exactly when you're done:

Mission Objective   Requirement   Best Method
Yankees Postseason Tribute   39 Total Bases   Full Yankees lineup in Mini Seasons.
Career Hits Milestone   2,105 Hitter PXP   Bat around on Rookie vs CPU in high-elevation vault stadiums.
Program Moments   Complete All   Use Directional hitting if struggling with the CPU.
By stacking the lineup and choosing the right stadium settings, you can easily clear all 39 total bases and 2,105 PXP in a single long game or a couple of quick Mini Seasons matches. Good luck with the grind, and enjoy the new 95 OVR O'Neill!
